The Doylestown Art League was founded in 1959 by the late Walter Fell. Today, with more than 55 years of service to its members and to the community, the League is one of Bucks County’s leading cultural institutions. Many members of Doylestown Art League are artist recognized locally, regionally and internationally for the outstanding quality of their work.
Membership is open to anyone, artist or non-artist, 16 years or older, who is interested in supporting the visual arts. Our meetings are free and open to the public and are held at the James Lorah Auditorium, Broad and Main Streets, Doylestown, (across from the Bucks County Courthouse). The meetings are held at 7:30 pm, on the first Thursday of the month, excluding the summer months July and August. Our meetings usually feature a guest speaker who typically shares their work, techniques and inspiration, with a presentation and often a demonstration.
The Doylestown Art League has a Member’s show in the Spring and a second show in the Fall. These are usually held at the Health and Wellness Center in Warrington Pa.
We also have numerous Classes and Workshops in Watercolor, Oils and other Media. Please visit our website for details on the Upcoming Events page
The Laura Hager Student Art Award program seeks to encourage art students of the Central Bucks School District. One graduating student from each of the Central Bucks High Schools is selected by our judging committee to receive this annual award. Selection is based on a review of their portfolio and an assessment of their creativity, technical ability and the presentation of their work.
