Event Category: Art Presentations
“Why won’t my image upload!?”
If you’ve ever sat in front of a computer and said those words… this presentation is for you.
Many of you know Josh, our resident “all things internet” guy. He happens to be a pretty good photographer too. (See his website and Facebook pages.) What you may not know is that when Josh isn’t working in our store, he’s helping local, small businesses and artists with their website and internet needs at his own company, pixelMIGHT. So, you might say that, with Josh’s experience, he knows a thing or two about creating good crisp images and using them for all kinds of applications on the internet.
Good news everyone! (Said in the voice of Prof. Farnsworth.) Josh will be giving a presentation (with a small amount of discussion) about how to handle images of your artwork. Topics covered will be:
• How & what to use to take a picture of your artwork.
• The two most common file types. (jpg & tiff)
• Where each file type may be useful.
• Image resolution and what’s up with pixels.
• How to use free online software to adjust the size of your image.
• Tips for entries, websites and social media.
The goal is for you to gain a basic understanding of the what’s and how-to’s of handling digital images (photos) of your artwork. This may help you manage your website and submit online entries more easily.
A FREE event for artists. To reserve your seat, call 215-345-0980.
